“Jesus shares with us the darkness of what it is to be without God as well as showing forth the glory of what it is to be with God. He speaks about it, and perhaps that is much of why, although we have not followed him very well these past two thousand years or so, we have not quite been able to stop listening to him…” Frederick Buechner

3:30PM Sunday, March 7th,
followed by Sunday evening worship
Parents, Mentors and the Wider Congregation are invited to attend a four week series called, "Finding Words for the Journey", Sunday afternoons through March from 4-5pm. Using the book, "Words for the Journey: Letters to our Teenagers about Faith and Life" topics ranging from dealing with doubts about faith, sex, homo-sexuality and abortion to questions asking if there is life after death will be addressed. Please plan to join us! Sign up on the bulletin board across from the church office and/or talk to either Rev. Jessica or Beth Martindale who will be co-leading the course.
Lent is traditionally a time of discipline.
Sign up on the bulletin board opposite the office door and join us directly after worship in Fellowship Hall for an 'All FPC Family' event. Bring a main dish or salad to pass (dessert will be provided) and enjoy a meal with your FPC Family. After lunch, all children up to 4th grade will participate in an Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Youth Group. If you can help us be "nut-free" or label any dish that is not, it would be appreciated. Thank you!
But it is also a time of freedom when the Spirit of God urges us to be open to the experiences of Jesus. Monday evenings, March 15, 22, & 29 at 7 pm in the Parlor, you’re invited to join Rev. Bendroth for a time of reflection. We’ll be using a series of meditations called A Season for the Spirit by Martin Smith as a resource. No need to buy the book. Our time will also be spent learning different practices of prayer and meditating with Scripture.
